OBJ / STL to Papercraft: Full-Size PDF & SVG Templates
Unfold a low-poly OBJ or STL into printable paper pieces with glue tabs, matching edge labels, fold directions and a real assembly reference.
Papercraft Workshop
Start with the generated 20-face example. Models with holes, inconsistent winding, intersections, tiny faces or non-manifold connections need source-editor repair or simplification before export.
Supported scope: 2 MiB OBJ / ASCII or binary STL · 240 triangles after triangulation · 2,000 OBJ vertices · planar OBJ polygons up to 16 vertices · one closed connected solid · at most 40 template pages · 60-second worker limit. Faces need 2.7 mm inradius for labels; cut seams need 11 mm length. Untextured, zero-thickness surface output.

Can I use my own OBJ or STL?
Yes, within the published limits. Supply one closed, connected, consistently oriented low-poly surface. Planar OBJ polygons are triangulated; STL triangles are read from ASCII or binary files. Invalid topology, unsupported surfaces and very small printable features receive an actionable error.
Will printed pieces keep the requested dimensions?
The geometry is scaled to your chosen longest dimension and is not reduced during pagination. PDF and SVG page units are explicit. Your printer can still rescale: choose Actual size / 100%, disable fitting and measure the included 50 mm line.
Are textures and material files included?
No. This version produces untextured cut-and-fold patterns. It does not fetch MTL files, image URLs or other external assets. Source colors, textures and supplied normals are omitted or recalculated and reported.
Why are there several pieces instead of one net?
A connected unfolding can overlap or exceed the selected page. The algorithm separates pieces, adds matching seams and checks the result. It is a practical greedy layout, not a guarantee of minimum cuts, fewest pages or optimal assembly.
What do P, F and E labels mean?
P identifies a paper piece, F a model face and E a matching glue seam. Every E-number has one tab and one receiver. Use the 3D preview to highlight the two faces, then consult the same seam in the PDF, CSV or assembly JSON.
Does it guarantee that every model is easy to assemble?
No. Thin paper, glue access and closure order need physical judgment. The output represents a zero-thickness surface and does not compensate for paper thickness or cutting error. Dry-fit first and keep the final seam accessible; the numbered list is an assembly reference, not a physical simulation.
